A Capital Idea!
The 2nd Annual Washington, DC Trip

Sponsored by the Middlebury, Seymour, Southbury, and Woodbury Democratic Town Committees, seven area high school students visited Washington, D.C. June 24-27 to meet their representatives in Congress, view Congress in session, tour the Capitol, attend a State Department briefing, as well as sightsee at various monuments and other points of interest. Pictured above (from left): Sean Simoneau, Mike Roy, Seth Warner, Chelsea Martens, Bess Martin, Meghan Beebe. In back: Mike Sturges (chaperone) and Chris Knobloch. Woodbury DTC chair Lesa Peters also accompanied
the group as a chaperone.

Our thanks to members of Connecticut's Congressional delegation, including Congressman Chris Murphy, Congressman John Larson, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro and Senator Chris Dodd, for graciously meeting with our group. Thanks, too, to Art DeCoursey and Tom McMahon of the Democratic National Committee and Michael Kelly of the National Park Service for all their help!

Welcome to the Woodbury Democratic Town Committee Web site! We hope you will visit often!

Congratulations to Paul Hinckley, First Selectman-elect and George Hale, Selectman-elect. Thank you to our fine slate of candidates, and to all those who volunteered and voted, and made their victory possible. As Paul says, the work now begins. We are looking for volunteers to join Boards and Commissions, to help Paul and George achieve their campaign commitments to Woodbury residents. Please contact us if you are interested in serving the town, which relies on many qualified and active volunteers.

The 2008 campaign season is now upon us. Visit our website often for updates on Woodbury Democratic activities and on the 2008 campaigns.
